2025 annual goals
-
Increase student literacy in Tampa, Florida
Specific Goal: Establish 100 new at-home libraries for elementary students grades K-5.
Action Plan:
At the Long Learning Institute, we believe that every child deserves access to books—right in the comfort of their own home. Our At Home Libraries Initiative distributes custom-designed “mini libraries” to students across our community. Each compact, folding box is filled with age-appropriate, high-quality donated books, giving students a chance to build a personal reading space that inspires curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. Our goal is to distribute 100 of these libraries to students in need, fostering literacy, imagination, and academic growth.
-
Encourage Summer Learning with "Summer Science Explorers" Program
Specific Goal: Create and distribute 50 or more Summer Science Explorer Kits for elementary & middle school students.
Action Plan:
Science should be fun, accessible, and hands-on—especially during the summer! Our Summer Science Explorer Kits provide elementary and middle school students with exciting, at-home experiments using simple, everyday materials. Each kit includes four engaging science activities, easy-to-follow instructions, and all the supplies needed to explore key concepts like buoyancy, chemical reactions, aerodynamics, and solar energy. With this initiative, we aim to keep young minds active over break and nurture the next generation of inventors, thinkers, and problem-solvers.
-
Connect 1000+ High School Students with College Prep & Admissions Resources
Specific Goal: Connect 1000 or more high school students to college/future/career prep resources by various means.
Action Plan:
Navigating the road to college can be overwhelming, especially for first-generation students and families. That’s why the Long Learning Institute hosts free, interactive webinars designed to guide high schoolers through the entire college admissions process. Featuring guest speakers from top universities, live Q&A sessions, and targeted workshops on topics like the SAT/ACT, FAFSA, scholarships, and personal statements, our goal is to connect 1,000+ students annually with the knowledge and confidence they need to pursue higher education and fulfilling careers.
